Tando is a purebred Lusitano Stallion imported from Brazil in 2006. He is the grandson of Luar das Videiras the National Adult Stallion Champion (Brazilian Andaluzian Nationals 1950) and great grandson of the famous Portuguese Viega stallion, Venturoso III. His dam/sire is Conspirado of Andrade descent (Portuguese Champion of the National Horse Fair at Golega 1988).

Tando spent his first year in the US in training under the expert hand of Bettina Drummond in Connecticut. In 2007, we brought Tando to the West Coast where he was shown by Pippa Callanan, to the IALHA USDF Championship (junior/young rider, Training Level). The following year, Tando won the IALHA USDF Reserve Championship at Third Level, ridden by Regina Agren.

Tando returned to Bettina in 2009 for further upper level dressage training, and to begin his career as a breeding stallion. Last year, we brought Tando home to Northern California to continue his breeding career, and to share his dressage talents as a Schoolmaster. Tando is an extraordinary teacher, with lovely balance, strength, and the classical collection typical of the Lusitano. His calm temperament, impeccable manners, and forgiving nature have made him the perfect match for young riders and amateurs owners alike.

This wonderful stallion continues to hone his own skills in training with Carolyn Carroll, and with Bettina's expert guidance.
